Gaudez, Adrien Etienne (1845 – 1902)
He studied under Jouffroy and began exhibiting at the Salon in 1864, winning a third class medal that year and a first class medal in 1881. He specialized in monuments and large groups of statuary, but also sculpted portrait reliefs and busts.

Gunarsa, Nyoman (B. 1944)
He grew up in an ancient painting tradition in Klungkung and the influences of art and theatre of the Hindu-Balinese culture is evident in his paintings. He graduated from Indonesian Fine Arts Academy (ASRI) Yogyakarta in 1976 and subsequently became an instructor there. He participated in numerous international exhibitions in Japan, Europe, and the United States. His paintings have been collected many museums around the world. He also established his own museums, The Nyoman Gunarsa Indonesian Contemporary Painting Museum in Yogyakarta, and Classical Balinese Painting Museum in Klungkung, Bali. Among his awards are the Prastisara Affandi Adikarya (1976), in the Biennale Indonesian Art Exhibition (1978 and 1980) and the Lempad Prize (1980). For his efforts in developing and preserving the visual arts, he received the Dharma Kusuma Award from the Balinese Government in 1995. In 1988, Gunarsa was a visiting artist with the Art of Bali exhibition held in Honolulu at East-West Centre.

Gunawan, Hanjaya (B. 1954)
He studied painting in Surakarta Culture Assosiation under Dullah, and has participated in many exhibitions in ASEAN countries. His solo exhibitions was in Taman Ismail Marzuki in 1979. One of his paintings, 2.5 by 19 m size, was exhibited in Asean secretariat building in Jakarta.

Gunawan, Hendra (1918-1983)
As a teenager, Hendra Gunawan painted props and scenery for a theater group. He also studied under Wahdi. In 1940 he joined the Five Painters Group in Bandung along with Affandi, Barli, Sudarso and Wahdi. During the Japanese occupation, he taught painting at the Keimin Bunka Shidoso Cultural Centre in Jakarta. The Revolution found Hendra Gunawan in Yogyakarta where he fought in the Indonesian army. He established Pelukis Rakyat / People’s Painters in 1947, and taught painting and sculpture in ASRI / Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts, Yogyakarta from 1950-1957. Hendra became a member of the central committee of the communist-sponsored art organization LEKRA / People’s Cultural Institute. In 1981 he settled in Bali and held a solo exhibition at the Art Centre in Denpasar the following year.
