Ibrahim, Noor (B. 1966)
He graduated from
ISI / Indonesian Art Institute, Yogyakarta. He has had solo exhibitions in Yogyakarta and Surabaya, and has participated in group exhibitions throughout Indonesia.

Imandt, Wihelminus Jean Frederic (1882 - 1967)
He stayed in Indonesia from 1908 until 1928, traveling through Archipelago. In 1935 he returned until 1946. The painter had participated in several exhibitions of the Bataviasche Kunstkring in Jakarta from 1920 to 1925. His work is represented in the collection of the former President Soekarno.

Irsam (B. 1942)
Born in Klaten, Central Java. He studied at Indonesia Art Academy (ASRI) Yogyakarta. He paints in decorative style. He has participated actively in exhibitions in Jakarta, and abroad. He has obtained a prize at the Jakarta Biennial.

Israels, Isaac Lazarus (1865-1934)
Son of an artist, Jozef Israels, was a pupil of the academy of arts in The Hague and was taught at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. He visited Indonesia in 1921- 1922 to meet his friend, the artist Jan Veth. After staying in Jakarta,Yogyakarta (where he was allowed to paint inside the Kraton) and Bali, he returned to The Netherlands in 1922 and finally settled in The Hague. His work was selected for the International Colonial Exhibition in Paris in 1931, which was unfortunately destroyed by fire. Painter, draughtsman, watercolourist and graphic artist, who is considered one of the most important representatives of Dutch impressionism. Several of his paintings and sketches, including Indonesian work, are in the collection of the Haags Gemeentemuseum in The Hague.

Iskandar, Popo (1927-1999)
He began painting in 1944 as a poster painter for the information service of Indonesian Armed Forces. He studied at the Institute of Technology Bandung in 1958. His bold, graphic works feature figures with bright colours. A writer and art critic, lectured at the Teachers Training College Bandung, he was a life-member of the Academy of Jakarta. He was awarded the Anugerah Seni Indonesia in 1980.
