M Japin(B. 1959)
M. Japin was born in Ambarawa, Central Java, 23 February 1959. Japin learned painting since primary school and until now still exists with his naturalist style. Japin started his painting career in Ubud, Bali, 1990. He also joined Kelompok Sepuluh"" (Group of ten) of Ambarawa artists. From 1990 until now Japin participated in group exhibitions in several cities in Indonesia. His art works also collected by local as well as overseas collector. Japin's favorite objects are about traditional games and activities of children in rural area, which are almost extinct from the villagers in Indonesia. Japin's art works are sold in Masterpiece auction.

Mangu Putra, Gusti Agung (B. 1963)
He graduated from ISI / Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta in 1990, majoring in Visual Communication Design. He received awards for Best Work in Visual Communication Design at Dies Natalis IV (1988) and VI (1990) at ISI Yogyakarta; and was one of the Top Ten prize winner of the Indonesian Art Awards in 1994. He worked as a graphic designer from 1990-1998. He has had solo and group exhibitions in Bali, Jakarta, and Singapore.

Marsoyo(B. 1973)
Marsoyo was born in Magelang, Central Java, 1973.He graduated from Art High School (SMSR) Yogyakarta. The Activities: 1993-Group Exhibition at Post and Telecommunication Department, Yogyakarta. Join Exhibition-Yogyakarta-Kyoto. 1994-Young Artist Exhibition at Purna Budaya, Yogyakarta. 2002-Group Exhibition-SMSR Anniversary at Benteng Vrederberg, Yogyakarta. Participant of Yogya Art Festival at Taman Budaya, Yogyakarta. Art & Cultural Festival at PDM Yogyakarta.

Martadireja, Roedyat (1930 - 2002)
He studied Fine Arts at the Institut Teknologi Bandung in 1949. Since 1951, he started exhibiting both individually and collectively, featuring cubistic figures and landscapes.

Masriadi, Nyoman (B. 1973)
Masriadi left his studies at the Indonesia Fine Art Institute Yogyakarta before graduating. Since 1993, he has participated in numerous exhibitions of the group Sanggar Dewata in Bali, Yogyakarta and Surakarta. He participated in Yogyakarta’s Biennial in 1999. He received a number of awards from the Indonesia Art Institute, Yogyakarta.

Meier, Theo (1908 -1982)
He studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel and the academies of arts in Berlin and Dresden. He traveled in the 30s to the South Pacific and eventually settled in Bali in 1936 where he would stay, with some intervals until 1957. Then he settled in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The artist participated in the Bali Exhibition organized by the Bataviasche Kunstkring in Jakarta in 1939. His works are represented in the collections of the former President Sukarno, the Neka Museum in Ubud Bali, the Agung Rai Fine Art Gallery in Peliatan, Bali and the Kunstmuseum in Basel, Switzerland.

Mene, Pierre Jules (1801 – 1871)
Apart from a few tips from Rene Compaire, he was self-taught as a sculptor but built up a large reputation as an Animalier, producing figures which he cast in bronze himself. He established his own foundry in 1838 and thereafter had thriving business in turning out small bronze d’ameublement by the sand – cast process. He won a second class medal in 1848 and first class medals in 1852 and 1861, receiving also the Legion d’Honneur in the later year. He also exhibited at the Great Exhibitions of 1851 and 1862 in London and many of his groups were designed with the British market in mind.

Menendez, Diego (B. 1956)
Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He studied at the art academy in Buenos Aires, then moved to France in 1981. He received awards from France in 1987, 1993 and 1995. He had many exhibitions, either group or solo, mostly in France and other European countries since 1982 and during 2000 to 2002 he started to exhibit his paintings in Jakarta. Last time was in Canna Gallery in 2002.

Menno, Simon Jacobus van Meeteren Brouwer (1882-1974)
After studying at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam, Menno settled in Medan, Sumatra in 1910 and then he returned to the Netherlands in 1922. An illustrator and cartoonist, he was also a painter, draughtsman and watercolourist. His works can be seen in the Amsterdam and Rotterdam museums.

Mokoh, Dewa Putu (B. 1936)
He studied painting under Gusti Ketut Kobot. Later he joined the Kelompok Pelukis Pengosekan and always participated in numerous art exhibitions in Indonesia and other countries.

Moerdowo, Dr. R. (B. 1919)
Born in Yogyakarta, 1919. After Independence Day of Indonesian Republic, he formed HBS (Himpunan Budaya Surakarta) at Solo. He also became a National Comitee for UNESCO. He was the head of art department at Udayana University and also become a teacher for art critics and art history. His works had been exhibited in many local galleries and international forums. He was also known as a writer, some of them are “Ceremonies in Bali” and “Reflection on Indonesian Arts and Culture”

Moreau, Louis Auguste (1855 – 1919)
He studied under his father, Aime Millet, A. Dumont and J. Thomas and his works were exhibited at the Salon, winning a third class medal in 1877 and a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. He specialized in allegorical and classical groups, statuettes of historic personalities and busts of his contemporaries.

Murti, Ayu Arista (B. 1979)
Born in Surabaya, 14 Desember 1979, she is student of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Indonesia Institute of Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta. She has been in many group exhibitions from 2002 to 2005, and she has received awards from 1996 to 2003.

Mystkowsky, Ceszlaw (1898-1938)
He studied fine art in Moscow, Warsaw and Paris. Then he went to Indonesia with his Dutch wife, where they settled in Sindang Laya, Java, in 1928. Some of his large Indonesian paintings were exhibited at the International Colonial Exhibition in Paris 1931. Solo exhibitions of his work were held in Jakarta and he also had a solo show in Amsterdam.
